MASTERS OF THE ROAST
We take roasting seriously, and our roasters have the process down to a science, and an art. This allows us to blend each batch of coffee the same way, every time.
HONORING THE BEAN
We roast our beans by variety, with their own unique roasting profile—including temperature, time and process—to bring out each bean’s unique flavor. Our approach requires more time and care than uniform roasting, and results in the best coffee.
PEAK OF FRESHNESS
Once the beans arrive to us from our sourcing partners, we roast, grind and package in a timely manner. So timely, that often our roasts are still warm and rich in coffee oils when we hand-package them. Our goal always, is for the coffee you drink to be the freshest it can possibly be.
THE ONE TREE PLANTED PROJECT
Brewing some good outside of our own product is important to us, so we’ve partnered with One Tree Planted to give back to the ecostystems in the regions that our beans have been harvested! Independence Coffee Company® and goodPod Coffee® are dedicated to helping One Tree Planted with their ongoing mission with monthly donations. A PASSION FOR COFFEE WITH A VAN WE CALLED “THE BOOGER”
One roaster, one grinder, and two 152-pound bags of green coffee beans.
During the days, I took care of the kids and Ragan had a full-time job. Then, after a full day of work & family, we roasted coffee late into the night. A few evenings a week, when the kids got out of school, we’d pile into the van and take ‘field trips’ – delivering coffee and running household errands.
Over the course of a year, we built our fledgling coffee company on the road, together. The business grew and continues to grow today, but we’ll always move forward as a tightly packed, tightly bonded family.”
